Who are we?
I work on questions of urban science, especially on city evolution in developing contexts, and on the emergence of poverty and inequality (my research). Previously, I was a practitioner in finance and an academic at the intersection of social science and mathematics. I had the privilege to be part of the founding team at IFMR Trust (now Dvara) and a founding faculty at Krea University. I am trained in mathematics, with a Ph.D. from Imperial College London, where I was a Schrödinger scholar.
As co-founder of the Madras Complexity Collective, I am hopeful of creating a space where research on complex systems science can meet other expressions that value diversity and emergence, such as in art and practice.

I am an applied mathematician with an interest for questions in public policy. I am a final year PhD student at the Centre for Complexity Science and Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London working on complex networks, economic complexity, and inequality. I was previously the head of research analytics at Dvara Research (formerly IFMR Finance Foundation) and led multiple research and advocacy efforts with policymakers and regulators in India on questions relating to public finance, social security, capital regulation, and data protection.
I hope that the Madras Complexity Collective can become a platform for us to explore as well as express the ideas of complexity and how we can use them to study real-world problems.
